‘Closest Physical Representation to Wonder Woman’: Hollywood Star Kristen Bell Reveals ‘Game Changer’ in Personal Life Along With Husband Dax Shepherd

For an MMA fighter, nothing helps more than having Jiu-Jitsu skills. While an athlete is fighting with an opponent, many instances will come where the fighter can escape his opponent’s strikes using his Jiu- Jitsu skills. There are many successful fighters in the UFC who have exceptional BJJ skills. On several occasions, they have admitted that knowing the martial arts helped them defend themselves. With the passage of time, a general trend of powerful jiu-jitsu fighters shifting to cage fighting has been observed. The reason is very simple: Jiu-jitsu forms a great foundation for any aspiring cage fighter. They only need to add more skills and fighting techniques to the base.

The UFC Octagon has seen many fighters with exceptional JJ skills, especially when it comes to women fighters. Jessica Andrade and Claudia Gadelha top the list. However, recently American Actress Kristen Bell surprised the MMA community after saying she takes Jiu Jitsu training.

The American actress was speaking in an interview with Real Simple. Being an actor, producer, mom, and wife, Bell had a lot to say about both her professional and personal life. Furthermore, when asked who is the game-changer of her life, the spartan star said, My husband keeps my mind and heart open and moving forward every single day, because he’s a challenger. We disagree about 99 percent of the things on earth, which is just fun and interesting.”

She added, “And I started taking mother-daughter Jiu-Jitsu classes last year with Cesalina Gracie, our trainer, who is the closest physical representation to Wonder Woman you’ve ever seen. I could break your arm.”

The improvements in life after taking Jiu-Jitsu training

It quite surprised the interviewer to hear about the martial arts skills of the Hollywood star. Bell, being five feet two, didn’t look like a person who would have the ability to fight anyone. Nevertheless, Bell has the perfect explanation for her choice of martial arts and why she loves it the most. The Veronica Mars star says that JJ is mainly about leverage, where one has to use connection and distance. Bell also appreciated martial arts for personal reasons. She claims that the training sessions have brought her and her daughter closer than ever.

The Hollywood star also detailed her training session with Cesalina Gracie. The first thing Bell learned in Jiu-Jitsu was the importance of using one’s voice. It is important for any human to make sure that they are heard, which will bring them closer to their dreams and hopes. In the further conversation, Bell added how Martial Art has contributed immensely to the growth of both her and her daughter.

The star also added how Jiu Jitsu has helped her daughter to overcome social anxiety. Additionally, she remarked on how her daughter was able to control a fight at her school. Kristen Bell indeed is a great example who proves how Martial Arts can motivate humans to live a better life.
