

Conor McGregor experiencing a broken leg at UFC 264 was not just a painful loss against Dustin Poirier. It also sidelined him from the sport. However, fans have been excited to see him resume training and want to see him in the Octagon soon.

McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, appeared on ‘Blockasset’ where he provided some updates regarding McGregor. Kavanagh said, “I don’t know if you can see the few nicks and marks on my forehead. He just kind of showed up by surprise. Of course, he grabbed me by the neck and I was subjected to a couple of rounds by this two thousand pound gorilla…”

“I think that’s my literally my first time doing some grappling with him since the lead-up to the last fight. So it’s been a while. He’s back healthy now, he’s back to be able to do all the facets of MMA training.”
Many UFC fighters have called out the Irish athlete. This includes Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler. While both of them would be a great way for McGregor to return, a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz or yet another bout with Poirier has also been in the talks.

However, there isn’t much clarity about his return or opponent yet.
Diaz has clearly stated that he won’t be fighting ‘The Notorious‘. Hence, it would be interesting to see whom he returns against. After all, there are many fighters who are interested in facing him.
Conor McGregor: His bulky physique
John Kavanagh, calling the 22-6-0 record holder a ‘two thousand pound gorilla’, is not surprising. In the athlete’s recent pictures and training videos, fans have witnessed McGregor’s massive physique. As a result, many were skeptical about him returning at lightweight.

In fact, ‘Mystic Mac’ has also shown interest in fighting Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title. The Irishman has already been the champion in the lightweight and featherweight divisions. Thus, the heavier weight class seems to interest him.
