Cody Garbrandt’s Conquerer Kai Kara-France to Return to UFC Action in a Title Eliminator in March

Kai Kara-France ended the year on a high note with a victory over former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. Notably, the Kiwi has now put himself in a position to negotiate for a title shot. However, the UFC wants to pass one more obstacle in the form of flyweight #2 Askar Askarov.

Reportedly, the match will be a title eliminator. It will create a challenger for the winner of Brandon Moreno vs. Deiveson Figureido that will take place on January 22nd at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Recently, the undefeated Dagestani Askar Askarov confirmed through an Instagram post he is going to face flyweight #6 Kai Kara-France next. He captioned the photo, let’s go🌪🤼‍♂️ vs 🥊”

Dagestani is coming off a unanimous decision of victory over Joseph Benavidez. The ‘Bullet’ Askar Askarov is one of the most dominant fighters on the UFC roster. The current champion, Brandon Moreno, put the only blemish on his unless undefeated career with a draw. Notably, the duo met back in 2019 on Askarov’s UFC debut. Since then, the ‘Bullet’ has amassed notable wins over top-tier flyweights. Namely, Joseph Benavidez, Alexandre Pantoja, and Tim Elliott.

According to MMA Fighting, the match between ‘Bullet’ and ‘Don’t Blink’ will take place on March 26th at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Besides, a match between former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and #3 Alexander Rakic will headline the event.

Kai Kara-France qualified enough to be champion?

Kai Kara-France(23-9) is coming off a stupendous victory over former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. Kara-France TKO’d ‘No Love’ at UFC 269 in the first round of their bout. Notably, it was the ex-champions flyweight debut.

The 28-year-old has notable victories over other elite flyweights such as Rogerio Bontorin. Whom he defeated in the same fashion as ‘No Love’. The Kiwi also met the current champion Moreno back in 2019, where he lost only through a unanimous decision.
