Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal were once friends and training partners, but their relationship deteriorated over time. It eventually led to a heated rivalry that culminated in their UFC 272 bout. Covington ultimately won the fight by unanimous decision, but the bad blood between the two did not end there.
After the fight, Covington alleged that Masvidal had attacked him in Miami. It led to Covington pressing charges against his former friend. The incident added fuel to the fire of their already contentious relationship. Since then, the two have not spoken much about each other in the media.

“I can’t wait to see all the stuff that comes out between that”, Covington said. “…I think there’s more to come and more to hear from that so we’ll have to see when we get more facts”, he added in the end.
It is unclear what Covington was alluding to with his comments, but it seems that he may be expecting some kind of drama or controversy to emerge from the situation. Given the history between Covington and Masvidal, it is not surprising that Covington would be eager to see his former rival caught up in some kind of scandal.

As for Masvidal, his split from First Round Management and Kawa has been relatively quiet so far. It is unclear why Masvidal decided to leave the management company, but Masivdal has stated that it has nothing to do with money.
First Round Management manages big names like Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, and Derrick Lewis. Regardless of the reason for the split, it is clear that Masvidal is now without the guidance of Kawa. Kawa has been a prominent figure in the MMA world for many years.
