The welterweight combatants Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman clashed against each other in a much-anticipated title rematch last weekend. The fight lived up to the hype and both men delivered an amazing performance inside the cage.
However, it was the champion Usman who came out victorious in the five-round gruesome battle, handing ‘Chaos’ a defeat again. Unlike their first slugfest, ‘Chaos’ wasn’t giving up this time and took the fight to the distance.
Covington confirmed a brutal leg injury in the fight but refused to give up, as he was not only fighting for the title, but something more than that. In the post-fight press conference, he said, “Yeah, I was compromised. First or second round, I threw that calf kick and it landed on his knee and I felt it just exploded right away.”

“So this was something bigger than myself. I wasn’t gonna quit on them. Yeah, I got clipped in the second round. But I’m going to keep fighting and keep coming for you. I am unbreakable. You can’t stop me.”
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ saw one of the toughest opponents of his UFC career in Covington. This victory marked Usman’s fifth successful title defense in the UFC. Meanwhile, ‘Chaos’ will look to map his way back to the welterweight gold with another blockbuster fight.
