Count Justin Gaethje among the growing list of people belittled by former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington. Known for his brash persona, ‘Chaos’ has a habit of mocking his opponents—and sometimes even people with no connection to him. In his latest jab, the multi-time title contender took aim at Gaethje, not only ridiculing him but openly criticizing his facial features. However, this time, Covington’s trash talk may have backfired.

In a video uploaded by ‘Cage Culture’ we could witness Colby Covington in a training session when he took time out of his hand to make fun of Justin Gaethje, “Well, Poirier got knocked out like that by “Ducklet” Gaethje. He’s a duckling—quack, quack, quack. I’m Justin Gaethje; I get f—— hit in the head, and now I have f—–up lips.”

Covington’s words may have backfired on him, as the MMA community didn’t appreciate what he had to say about ‘The Highlight.’ One might wonder why Covington is making comments about Justin Gaethje, even though they are not in the same division. Do they share any history? Well, yes, they do. Back in 2020, Colby Covington and  ‘The Highlight’ endorsed Donald Trump together. According to Gaethje, ‘Chaos’ had a very calm demeanor, however, he was drastically wrong.

“He is a coward – he’s a fake person. He stands there and acts like this soft-hearted dude, and then he gets behind the camera and he’s a total coward and a fake person. I’ve never met someone as fake as Colby Covington. As a man, I would love to slap him right across the face,” said Gaethje in one of his confessions after meeting with ‘Chaos.’

That’s not all; when asked to pick his pick on the Covington vs. Leon Edwards fight, Gaethje asserted, “I don’t pick against America but f— that guy.” Well, they do have an animosity against each other, and it is palpable. However, ‘Chaos’ making fun of Gaethje’s face was a bit unacceptable to the fans.

Colby Covington gets torn apart by fans after Justin Gaethje’s comments

A furious social media user called out Colby Covington, urging him to review his own fighting statistics before comparing himself to the likes of Justin Gaethje, “He’s better looking than you he’s a better fighter far more likable has more fans than you’ll dream of and he’s more intelligent and well spoken than you.” Notably, ‘Chaos’ is currently on a two-fight losing streak and has lost four of his last six bouts.

Justin Gaethje was pieced up by Max Holloway at UFC 300 as ‘Blessed’ won the battle by way of knockout in the final round and still had his stock rise. A social media user gave a reality check to the former interim welterweight champion, saying, “Gaethje coulda got up after his UFC300 loss and KO Colby in R1.”

Furthermore, a fan compared Dillon Danis to Colby Covington, “Is this just a higher level Dillon Danis?” With a career record of 17 victories and 5 defeats, ‘Chaos’ has a formidable record. However, it lacks when it gets compared to Justin Gaethje’s record of 25 victories and only 5 defeats. Looking at this a fan wrote, “Justin Gaethje has a way better record than you Colby sucks.”

Another social media user reminded Covington about his recent loss against Joaquin Buckley, which he lost by way of knockout-Doctor stoppage in the third round, “Speaking of getting hit in the head a lot Surprised to see he’s already awake after that Buckley KO.” Last but not least, another user sarcastically called out the former interim welterweight champion, “Must have been like this when Usman relocated that jaw.”
