Leon Edwards was able to blow the roof off the O2 Arena in London by retaining his welterweight belt. Edwards was so determined to win against Usman at any cost that he even ended up using some foul moves in the first 25 minutes. ‘Rocky’ made sure that he defended the takedown attempts and high kicks coming from his opponent. Additionally, it was evident that Rocky’s blows went heavy on Usman.

Anyone who watched the bout between the two didn’t find it difficult to say that Edwards was the winner. It was no surprise when the majority decided Edwards was the victor after five rounds. The UFC’s two-division champion, Henry Cejudo, says the same. However, in one of the statements before the bout, ‘Triple C’ predicted that ‘the Nigerian Nightmare’ would win the fight, considering his wrestling expertise. From the reaction video of Cejudo, it was evident that he was not happy with the result, following which he stated that Colby Covington is the next champion.

Henry Cejudo recently shared a video on his Instagram handle in which he was seen reacting to the live fight. When Edwards emerged victorious, Cejudo said, “It’s hard for me to be mad at it. It’s hard for me to be mad at the decision. Because Kamaru Usman has tons of opportunities to take him down and he didn’t, Man.”

He continued, “And I’m bumped out for him, but…Colby Covington is your next champ. [Leon Edwards] is an easy fight for him.” Even though the date of the fight was not fixed, ‘The Messenger’ was quick to predict the outcome.

Soon after, the bout between Edwards and Usman got over. UFC president Dana White announced that Colby Covington is going to face Edwards next for the title shot. The decision of the UFC president didn’t sit well with some of the other welterweights, including the current champion, Leon Edwards.
