Three-time UFC welterweight title challenger, Colby Covington looks to have fallen out with the fight fans. Covington has always had a shaky relationship with fans, however, after losing against Leon Edwards at UFC 296, the Miami native seems to have lost a majority of his fanbase.

‘Chaos’ has also had quite a history with Miami native, Jorge Masvidal. The two went from being best friends to despising each other to the point where they fought both in and outside the Octagon. Despite Covington getting the better of Masvidal inside the Octagon, ‘Gamebred’ managed to get his shots in outside the cage, getting the last laugh in their heated rivalry. And Miami fans don’t seem to let Covington forget that.

Colby Covington gets heckled at Miami Heat game

The former interim UFC champion recently attended a Miami Heat game with some of his friends. However, the end of the game left the 35-year-old welterweight in quite an uncomfortable position, as a fan came up towards Covington, reminding him whose city it was.

The end of the game had a fan come up to Covington, yelling out, “This is Jorge’s city brother. This is Jorge’s City. 305 Masvidal. Jorge’s city. I don’t even know who you are.”

The altercation between the two certainly seemed to have left Covington in quite a confusion. However, the UFC star didn’t seem to really care about what the fan was saying, as he just happened to laugh it off at first. However, Covington’s friend did step up to exchange some words.

Not the smartest move by the fan by a longshot because of how close he was to Covington when he said it. However, it did make for some content that entertained a lot of fight fans. Here are some of the comments from the post.

Fans react to Covington being heckled in Miami

The post had a lot of fans commenting on it. Most of them made fun of how Covington handled the situation. Here are some of the comments from the fans.

One fan implied that Covington’s friend was mad, even calling him his boyfriend;

“Colby’s boyfriend was PRESSED”

Another fan pointed out how Covington started talking back only when he was at a safe distance;

“He creates distance then talks crap. Brave”

Another compared it to a scenario in class;

“Colby had to wait till the teacher got between to start chirping”

One more fan commented calling Covington’s friend his boyfriend;

One fan highlighted what the Masvidal fan said at the end;

“I DONT EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!”

A fan disagreed with the Masvidal fan, by commenting that Masvidal lost against Covington;

“Jorge got beat up bro”

Another fan compared this altercation to his last fight against Leon Edwards.

“Colby did as much as his last fight”
