Kamaru Usman showcased his prowess in two memorable clashes against his rival “Chaos,” securing victory with a fifth-round TKO and a unanimous decision respectively. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ emerged as a worthy nemesis to Colby Covington and it seems like the American is still willing to fight him.
While having a conversation during the UFC 296 media day, Covington was asked whether he would be offering a trilogy fight to Usman. Covington asserted that if he secures the title on Saturday, then the first title defense that he would do will come against Usman. “You know, when I fought Usman, he was in his absolute prime, number one pound-for-pound. So, you guys want to talk about my resume and who I fought? I fought the number one pound-for-pound fighter multiple times, and in my opinion, I beat him. I beat him seven out of 10 rounds.” said Covington.
