Colby Covington claims to have retired Jorge Masvidal in 2022

‘Chaos’ said that Masvidal should have retired in 2022 after they fought at the T-Mobile Arena. He said, “I retired him last March when we fought here at the T-Mobile Arena in 2022.” Covington believes that ‘Gamebred’ changed after that loss at UFC 272. He added, “He [Masvidal] hasn’t been the same. I took away his confidence and his ego, you know. He hasn’t been the same fighter.”

Colby Covington also claimed that Masvidal isn’t the fighter who had an amazing 2019. He was fighting Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 just to get the money from the fight. He [Masvidal] just showed up for a paycheck in his last fight, you know.” It seems that there is no love lost between the two former friends-turned-bitter rivals.

Chaos claims that Masvidal’s retirement is fake

Colby Covington shared his own assessment of Masvidal’s retirement news and claims that the former BMF is lying. He said, “It’s a fake retirement. We all know people in the UFC that don’t retire.” ‘Chaos’ believes that Masvidal will return after indulging in steroids. He added, “He’ll [Masvidal] get out of the USADA pool, probably go do some steroids and come back because he doesn’t know how to make money any other way but fighting.”

The former interim champion also made some remarks about Jorge Masvidal, claiming that he had no other means of earning money. “He’s not really retired. That guy’s dumber and f***ed in the head. He’s not gonna be able to make money any other way but by fighting.”
