Recently, the noted MMA referee Marc Goddard also garnered numerous reactions from the MMA community. Goddard recently achieved the notable feat of getting promoted as a 2nd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The fans also appreciated this feat by the noted UFC referee with their admiring comments. One of the fans wrote, “A lot of people don’t know Goddard was a pro fighter and fought James Thompson twice”. The lauding tone of this fan was quite apparent.

Despite most of the fans appreciating Goddard‘s background and refereeing, some fans were also there who chose to deride his achievement.

One such fan wrote, “Blek belt? Who give him bratha, we hev to check dis”. It was a mindless application of the words said by the UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev.

One more fan displayed some similar thinking as he wrote, “We have to check this moment.”

Also, a user also intended to put Goddard‘s BJJ skills to the test, matching him up with UFC Welterweight, Colby Covington. He wrote, “Colby vs Marc not so godman is the fight to make”.

Another one brought up the moment when the coveted UFC star, Conor McGregor, had got into a heated altercation with Goddard.

A lot of fans would actually agree that having legit fight skills is very much required for the referees. There have been multiple instances where referees had to stop fighters forcefully after they didn’t agree to stop hitting their opponent. Having someone like Goddard inside the Octagon can be really helpful in such cases.
