The UFC Welterweight champion, Leon Edwards has faced the Nigerian Nightmare Kamaru Usman twice and walked away with a win both of those times. However, his title reign is in jeopardy again as UFC Welterweight fighter Colby Covington is on the hunt for a title shot. Covington has been persistent and driven and has his eyes fixed on the prize – the Welterweight title.

UFC President Dana White and Leon Edwards have had their differences in the past. The Welterweight champion had refused to fight Covington earlier, and White was not pleased with this lack of professionalism on the champion’s part. Edwards has always maintained that he doesn’t want to fight Covington because he doesn’t feel like he deserves it. However, the UFC President thinks that Covington deserves a title shot and that he shall get it.

He’s always been a great grappler but his defense has much improved since the first time he fought Usman, so…we’ll see how it goes.“, said Brown, openly expressing his amazement at Edwards victory over Kamaru Usman and his improvement.
