Bitter rivals Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal recently got into a brawl in Miami. As a result, the latter got into issues with the law. However, many were surprised to see him at the re-election event along with Ron DeSantis.

James Koutoulas tweeted, “Incredible to see true patriot @gamebredfighter present the best governor in America @GovRonDeSantis the BMF belt for fighting to keeping Florida free and setting an example for the rest of the world.”
As per reports, the fighter presented his BMF belt to the Governor. Twitter users had several things to say about his action.

The fighter won the BMF belt back in 2019 after defeating Nate Diaz. Hence, a Twitter user felt that ‘Gamebred’ was clinging to the past.

Further, a few Twitter users brought up Masvidal’s recent UFC fight losses.

Masvidal’s brawl with Covington had taken place in Miami, Florida. Because of this, a few users were quite surprised by seeing Masvidal along with Florida’s governor.

Thus, it looks like many social media users were not happy with Masvidal showing off his BMF belt. It would be interesting to see how he fares in his future fights. As of now, he is coming off three back-to-back fight losses. Two of them were against Usman for the title and the latest against Covington.
What’s next for Jorge Masvidal?
The fighter received backlash for getting into a brawl with Covington. Post their UFC 272 fight, their rivalry seems to have gotten intense. Hence, a second match between the two could be a huge fight.

It would be interesting to see if they come together for yet another clash in the octagon.
Post three losses, it is critical for the fighter to get back on track. He has had a long career as an MMA fighter and many of his fans would want to see him win the UFC welterweight belt.
