“Complete Mockery” at UFC 292 Gets Called Out As Unexpected Scorecard at Chito Vera vs Pedro Munhoz Faces Fans Backlash

The main event of UFC 292 was initiated with the showdown between Marlon Vera and Pedro Munhoz. The roof of TD Garden, Boston, was blown away with the exponentially expanding excitement, as ‘Chito’ defeated Munhoz via unanimous decision.

Both the fighters have a history with Sean O’Malley, but they entered the Octagon to come out of their last losses. The first round began with a couple of kicks by ‘The Young Punisher’. But ‘Chito’ was quick to grab one of his opponent’s kicks and dropped him to the canvas. However, that didn’t stop Munhoz from throwing kicks after kicks. Munhoz attempted a takedown after exchanging some blows, but Vera was strong on his feet. Vera kept sending calculated strikes that were packed with power. The round ended with a gash on Munhoz’s nose.

The second round showcased a bit higher energy. ‘Chito’ is infamous for building on the bouts, and he displayed his prowess once again. But the Brazilian wasn’t one to slow down. Neither fighter showed any restraint and the flurry of strikes were flowing with finesse. The crowd was indeed rising high, and reciprocated the energy of the fighters as the second round came to an end.

The final round began with respectful touch fists. Munhoz’s quick arms were answered with Vera’s fists. However, Vera’s strikes kept getting stronger as the fight proceeded. The fighter from Ecuador threw strong rights that opened up his opponent’s face. It was, in fact, a fight of endurance. With the ring of the bell, the fighters paid their respect to each other, as Vera emerged as the winner of the fight.

While the fan-favorite ‘Chito’ rose victorious over ‘The Young Punisher’ via unanimous decision, the fans were not happy with the judgment. The fans sided with the score of 29-28, in Vera’s favor. But 30-27 was not accepted well.

One of the fans said that although he had no clue about the winner, a score of 30-27 was nothing but crazy.

Some of the fans offered that Vera won only round three, while the other two went to Munhoz.

Some of the fans simply turned it into a laughing stock.

The main event began with a bang, indeed. However, the fans were not happy with the scorecard. While the first fight of the main card packed quite a punch, the world of mixed martial arts was eyeing up the fight between Aljamain Sterling and ‘Sugar’.
