Conor McGregor may be the biggest MMA star ever, but he’s not safe from getting called out and even made fun of. That’s exactly what happened recently when a supposed edited video of some major UFC stars was posted on Instagram. As fans poked fun at McGregor, former middleweight champion, Sean Strickland also commented on the portrayal of McGregor in the edited clip.

An Instagram user by the username ‘shadowsorcerers1’ shared a “Darl Fantasy edit,” showcasing superstars like 135lbs king Sean O’Malley, former champion Israel Adesanya, and many more, including Conor McGregor. While ‘Suga’ and ‘Izzy’ were depicted well, ‘The Notorious’s depiction saw him as a leprechaun. For context, a leprechaun is a well-known supernatural being in Irish folklore, with a short stature and a big beard.

Conor McGregor has been called a leprechaun many times in his career by rivals, and even famous Irish actor, Liam Neeson. The ‘Taken’ star seemingly launched a rant at MMA and the UFC last year on a ‘Men’s Health’ video, claiming that he “cannot stand it” while showing no love for McGregor“That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it,” said Neeson.

When Sean Strickland came across the clip, the ever-vocal former champ expectedly shared a review of it. Also, the fans showed no mercy to Conor McGregor, sharing a bunch of hilarious comments on that same Instagram post.

Sean Strickland wrote in one of his Instagram stories that “they did conor dirty but accurate,” addressing the elephant in the room, but not sparing Conor McGregor even a bit. This statement seemed to be what fans also had in mind as a couple of fans stated, “Lore accurate Conor,” and, “The Conor McGregor one was pretty accurate,” agreeing with the former middleweight champion.

On the other, the edited video was received pretty well by fans. Most fighters’ depictions were based on their standing in the UFC or the journey they had traveled to get to the premier MMA promotion. Jon Jones, firstly, was seen sitting on what seemed like the ‘Iron Throne’ from the ‘Game of Thrones’ franchise. Seeing that, one fan commented, “Jones is the king in the north,” with a little nod to the famous TV show. Also featured in the video was the opponent Jones never got to face, Francis Ngannou.

Francis Ngannou was seen traveling through a sandy desert, which some fans claimed to be pretty threatening and dangerous. While one fan stated, “Francis looks menacing,” another said, “Khabib Snow,” as Khabib Nurmagomedov got his character too. The video had the 29-0 legend walking with a bear beside him, a callback to the time when ‘The Eagle’ used to wrestle bears. And guess what? Even Dana White had his character, but one fan suggested his own. “Dana should’ve been the town clown,” the fan commented.
