When history remembers some of the biggest rivalries in combat sports, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’s story would be right up there with the rest. McGregor and Diaz gave the fans one of the most entertaining and heated rivalries in the history of the UFC. The pair have fought each other twice and are one apiece. They still take shots at each other on social media and keep the fan entertained.
With rivalries like these, there comes a kind of respect that is earned the hard way. Having spent around 7 rounds in the cage together, Diaz and McGregor share that bond despite the depth of their rivalry. The Stockton gangster recently acknowledged that same during a media scrum for his fight against Jake Paul. McGregor shared those words, thereby showing his agreement with Diaz’s comments.

While talking to the media at the press conference, Nate Diaz received questions about Conor McGregor. Ever since their second fight, fans have been eager for the news of a trilogy bout. However, seven years removed from their two fights, Diaz is out of the UFC and McGregor is yet to have a confirmed return.
While talking to the press, Diaz said, “I think there’s a respect there. From me for sure, anyways. He fought me. He fought Floyd Mayweather. Title fight after title fight. He’s on the level where he understands what’s going on.” As an assurance that a trilogy will happen, Diaz added, “And I’m gonna fight his a** too.”
Conor McGregor shared an Instagram post highlighting Diaz’s comments on his IG story. He added a “100” emoji, showing his agreement with the comments.
