Conor McGregor has made waves in the combat sports community once again. But not as a competitor, but as a promoter. Yes, you’ve heard it right. ‘The Notorious’ recently announced that he’s partnering up with Dana White‘s rival promoter, BKFC founder and president David Feldman, and is now one of the owners of the promotion.
After almost three years, when there were doubts if he would continue fighting since he was in a great financial position, ‘The Notorious’ was announced to be returning at UFC 303. The BKFC just had their KnuckleMania 4 event, headlined by Mike Perry. During the broadcast, David Feldman let the people know that they were going to make the most important announcement in the history of his promotion. As such, the camera shifted from the president of the promotion to Conor McGregor, who announced that he had now become a part owner of BKFC.
“What’s up, KnuckleMania? ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor here. Ladies and gentlemen, a huge announcement that I have for you today. Conor McGregor, myself, and McGregor Sports and Entertainment is now an owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships. Welcome to the big leagues. David Feldman, baby, we did it,” said Conor McGregor.

This announcement surely came as a surprise, especially because for months, there were talks that maybe the Irishman could consider fighting in BKFC. However, in a dramatic turn of events, McGregor decided to become an owner. Nevertheless, there is still a chance that we might get to see the former UFC double champion in action inside the BKFC circle.

‘The Notorious’ could still compete in the BKFC
Not too long ago, the BKFC had social media influencer Bryce Hall compete in a fight in a welterweight bout. Hence, it begs the question: If a YouTuber can fight, why can’t Conor McGregor? Well, David Feldman gave the fans a little clarification on that front. After McGregor mentioned wanting to compete at least once in a bare-knuckle fight, the BKFC president said, “Look, we’re partners with Conor McGregor. Everybody in the combat sports world, everybody in the world knows who that guy is. So Conor, thank you, and let’s blow this sh*t up.” This was said during the broadcast of KnuckleMania 4, as reported by ‘MMA Fighting‘.
BKFC is fast becoming a big-time promotion that never fails to set up exciting fights. Now that they have Conor McGregor as a partner, the only way for the promotion is up. It will help them garner a lot more audience than they already have, thanks to some of the former UFC fighters who’ve competed in their ring.

With that said, Conor McGregor will now have turned his attention to Michael Chandler, whom he’s set to fight in just two months. Will the Irishman make an epic comeback like he did after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov or will ‘Iron’ get the better of him? We’ll find that out during the International Fight Week.
