With Conor McGregor not enlisted in the USADA’s testing pool, people believe that his chances of fighting Michael Chandler are slim. Furthermore, a fellow lightweight fighter, Matt Frevola, expressed his urge to replace the Irishman to fight the former Bellator champion. Now, McGregor interacted with ‘The Steamrolla’ on social media.

While the possibility of ‘Notorious’ making his comeback is in doubt, Dana White still believes that his fight against ‘Iron’ is going to take place. He even disregarded USADA claiming that he doesn’t care what they have to say about the fight. Now, Matt Frevola, who wants to fight Chandler, hit up Conor McGregor on Twitter.

Conor McGregor interacts with the fighter, who wants to replace him

The former double champion has an active presence on social media. He doesn’t shy away from communicating with other fighters. As such, Matt Frevola hit him up on Twitter asking if he’s in Montauk. ‘The Steamrolla’ asked, “How’s Strong Island treating you [Conor McGregor] ??? See your’e in Montauk.” Conor McGregor replied to him, asking if he was there too. McGregor said, “It’s great, are you here ?”

However, Frevola was in Vegas preparing for UFC International Fight Week. Moreover, he will be cornering one of his teammates for a fight next week. Frevola assured McGregor that he will be there in Montauk after he was done in Las Vegas. “In Vegas for IFW & to corner my guy next week. Enjoy the Island!! Montauk is [great]. I’ll be back there on the 16th.”

Frevola had put his name in the hat to fight Chandler recently.

Matt Frevola wants to fight Michael Chandler

Over a week ago, ‘The Steamrolla’ shared a tweet where he expressed his wish to fight ‘Iron’ Chandler at Madison Square Garden. Furthermore, he ranted about Conor McGregor’s USADA situation and claimed that he may be taking some banned substances. Frevola said, “I am ready for Michael Chandler. McGregor ain’t fighting. Dude’s juiced to the gills.”

Additionally, he told Michael Chandler that his fight with the former double champion isn’t going to come to fruition. Instead, ‘Iron’ should consider fighting him at MSG. Frevola added, “Michael Chandler, you could keep dreaming about fighting. But guess who you can fight at MSG? [pointing at himself] You can take your steamrolling like a man.”

Even if Dana White has assured that Chandler vs McGregor will take place this year, he has not given a timeline as to when it could happen. However, the Irishman has backed the UFC president’s claim and fans are waiting to see if the 53-year-old promoter can follow through with his assurance.
