After Khabib Nurmagomedov’s sensational Tweet against ‘Chaos’, he has finally received a reply from ‘The Notorious’, who took a jibe at the Russian asking UFC welterweights to boycott Covington. McGregor Tweeted, “He’d just go up to middleweight cos he’s not a fat Fanny.”

It seems like the Irishman was referring to Nurmagomedov’s struggles with cutting weight as he himself gears up for a UFC return in the welterweight division.

Earlier, in his Tweet, ‘The Eagle’ lashed out at Covington, “No one has the right to insult someone’s family. Once you have gone down this path, then be ready to back up your words.”

A quick recap of the beef between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor actually started on good terms, as the former was a fan of the Irishman.

However, the enmity between both of them started when the then featherweight champion Conor McGregor was given a lightweight title shot ahead of Nurmagomedov. ‘The Eagle’ was undefeated at the UFC and was looked upon as the perfect title challenger.

Meanwhile, McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to become the first champ-champ of the UFC. This feat further fueled the conflict. The Russian began to call out McGregor at every possible platform and the matter finally came to a boil when Nurmagomedov confronted McGregor’s training partner Artem Lobov in a hotel lobby.

This was the final nail in the coffin as McGregor finally confronted Nurmagomedov. And many controversial press conferences later, the duo finally met inside the octagon at UFC 229, where Nurmagomedov defeated the Irishman via a rear-naked choke.
