The word is out– Conor McGregor isn’t returning to the octagon anytime soon. While the Irishman had taken to social media recently to proclaim he had ‘unfinished business’ with Michael Chandler, resurrecting hopes the former double champ may be looking to come back.
But Dana White has come out and rubbished these speculations, revealing at a recent event that he hadn’t talked to the Irishman “in a minute,” and that McGregor was “not fighting anytime soon.” As you can imagine, the Irishman has been copping a lot of hate from the fans for misleading them yet again.
The fans think McGregor is too rich and too famous to keep fighting, silk sheets and all, and is using the promise of a comeback to remain relevant and make headlines. But ‘The Notorious’ is absolutely unbothered by all the hate and is positively relishing in playing the villain.

Clearly, McGregor is too busy living the high life to be bothered by what some people on the internet think of him. So unbothered he is, in fact, that he made a social media post to tell people he was unbothered. But more importantly, we now know where McGregor’s comeback stands– and it’s exactly what people thought– not happening.

In fact, the Irishman was pretty serious and officially announced earlier this year that he would be running for the President of his native Republic of Ireland in this year’s Presidential election. However, that went nowhere because of the “stipulations,” according to McGregor.

Is Conor McGregor's UFC comeback just a ploy to stay in the limelight without fighting?
Have an interesting take?
Indeed, the Irish constitution requires all Presidential candidate to get the backing of at least twenty parliamentarians or one city council to be eligible even run for President. And since ‘The Notorious’ was running as an anti-establishment candidate and doesn’t have connections to the Irish political class, he knew he wouldn’t be able to run for President.
Which many feel is behind his recent promises of wanting to come back to the UFC. To be fair, ‘Mystic Mac’ does have two fights left on his UFC contract yet, most believe that the chances he will actually fight out his contract are slim to none. But that won’t stop him from talking about it, though. What do you think about Conor McGregor flaunting his wealth on social media?
