Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov were once best of friends, however, even the strongest bond can be broken if legality comes in between them. Their relationship turned sour over the year after McGregor’s Proper Twelve whiskey garnered attention from the world. Lobov sued McGregor stating that the former dual-weight champion owed him some share after the brand was sold for a massive $600 million.

The massive deal added $150 million to McGregor’s net worth and it irked his former sparring partner Atrem Lobov. The Irish-Russian fighter claimed that McGregor promised him 5% of the proceeds but he never paid that. Later, Lobov sued McGregor for the claims but seems like ‘Notorious’ got his win after all.

Conor McGregor hints at winning against Artem Lobov

‘Proper Twelve’ is probably Conor McGregor’s one of the biggest brainchilds that made him the fortune that he has but was it only his idea? Well, there have been controversies that state that Artem Lobov came up with the entire idea and McGregor capitalized on them. To be honest, the rumors are made by Lobov himself.  Lobov and McGregor have been entangled in a legal battle since then.

Lobov claimed that he was the original creator and cofounder of the brand but McGregor never gave him the dues for it. In a confession to the court, McGregor confirmed that he tried to pay $1 million to Lobov for his contributions to developing a whiskey brand but it was prior to the Proper Twelve venture. Lobov claimed that ‘Notorious’ promised a proper 5% stake in the brand in an oral agreement. The duo has been fighting for it since then.

The former dual-weight champion took to his Instagram handle to add a post of his ‘Proper Twelve’ and share the post with a caption that said, “1 down, 1 to go. Amazing win in court today!”
