His knockout victory has garnered love and ͏appreciation from the MMA community, and this includes praise from a former rival.

There was a bit of concern when Dustin Poirier entered the arena. In the initial round, Saint-Denis seems to have overpowered Poirier with body blows and elbows. ‘Diamond’ even attempted a guillotine choke on him but failed in his attempt. The ‘God Of War’ even clinched the first round convincingly.

The pressure was now on the ‘Diamond’ to turn the match in his favor, and he certainly did. Dustin Poirier knocked out, Saint-denis in the second round with more than 2 minutes remaining. The impressive striking got the attention of former dual weight champion and Poirier’s former rival Conor McGregor. ‘Mystic Mac’ took to his X (Formerly Twitter) handle to let go of their rivalry and appreciate Poirier.
