Conor McGregor is the wealthiest mixed martial artist in the history of the sport. The Dubliner, who successfully leveraged the brand value he built in the UFC combined with his keen business sense, sold the majority stakes of his Proper No. 12 whiskey company in 2021, pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars.

This, of course, changed the Irishman’s life who was born in a working class home and was even homeless at one point. The former two-division champion is often accused by fans of letting the fame and money get to his head and his latest stunt only reinforced this perception.

Conor McGregor walks to jet instead of taking a Rolls Royce
Conor McGregor announced on New Year’s eve that he will finally be back in the octagon after a three year break in a middleweight bout against TUF rival 31 coach Michael Chandler at UFC 302. And as he gears up to face the former Bellator champion, ‘Mac’ has been active on social media giving fans a glimpse into his life and building up hype for the June 29 fight during the UFC’s International Fight Week.

And the ‘Notorious’ recently posted a short clip of him at an airport, about to alight on an airplane in the runway. And in another display of his humility and unpretentiousness, the Irishman could be seen in the video refusing a Rolls Royce and choosing to walk from the terminal to the runway. Fans, predictably, had a field day with it.

Clearly, Conor McGregor has not lost his penchant for being entertaining and knowing exactly what will get a rise out of UFC fans. However, as he hears up for his first fight after recovering from his snapped ankle, there are serious questions about his very ability to fight anymore.
