BKFC star Mike Perry recently called out Conor McGregor for a fight in bare-knuckle rules. ‘The Notorious’ even expressed a desire to compete in the squared circle months ago when he faced off against ‘Platinum’. Now, another former UFC star, Jeremy Stephens feels McGregor could come to BKFC to fight the guys he avoided in Dana White‘s promotion.

Conor McGregor hasn’t competed in the UFC for over two years. However, before he took a hiatus due to injury, he fought some of the best fighters under the UFC banner. But Jeremy Stephens, who once shared a hilarious moment with the Irishman during a press conference, believes otherwise. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

Jeremy Stephens opines on the possibility of Conor McGregor coming to BKFC

‘Lil’ Heathen’ recently made his bare-knuckle boxing debut at BKFC 56 and emerged victorious via a TKO stoppage against Jimmie Rivera. Meanwhile, he participated in a Q&A session before the fight, where he was asked about his thoughts on seeing Conor McGregor fight in the UFC. Jeremy Stephens handed the Irishman some advice before making the move to BKFC. He’s gotta get off the blow first, you know. He’s gotta get off the steroids,” said Jeremy Stephens.

He believes that Conor McGregor still has a long fighting career ahead of him and would love to see him fight in the UFC. Stephens added, “He’s got a long track ahead of him. He’s got a big route with UFC. I think me, Eddie [Alvarez], Mike [Perry].” The former UFC star also claimed that ‘The Notorious’ has fought almost everyone who’s now in the UFC and may not find many opponents in the future. Stephens further stated, “We put it down in the UFC, you know. He’s fought some fights but now he’s kinda running out of room.” This was not before accusing McGregor of avoiding many fighters when they were in the UFC.

Stephens urges the Irishman to fight the “real deals”

Combat sports athletes often point fighters at each other for refusing to fight or avoid them altogether. Jeremy Stephens had a similar thing to say about Conor McGregor. He believes that the former UFC double champion should test the waters in bare-knuckle boxing to cater to some unfinished business. ‘Lil’ Heathen’ said, “He’s really got to fight the real deals, the guys that he’s been avoiding.”

However, Jeremy Stephens has his fights and career to focus on. He is not too deeply invested about Conor McGregor competing in the UFC since it is not on the cards as of now. “That’s a long shot away. It’s not something I really think about but he can get it on the street,” Stephens added.

Conor McGregor has done everything in the UFC – he’s won gold and made a lot of money for himself and the promotion as well. He is now 35 years old and there are chances that he might seek to try his hands on other combat sports discipline, having mentioned his interest in boxing. However, we still don’t know if a switch to bare-knuckle boxing is on the cards. It remains to be seen if that becomes a reality.
