Katie Taylor defeated Chantelle Cameron last night to become the new undisputed super lightweight champion. Taylor was already the undisputed lightweight champion and had moved up to fight Cameron at the 3Arena in Dublin in May this year.

Cameron had handed Taylor her first professional defeat in her home country of Ireland. The two-division champion avenged her defeat at the same venue last night. However, when a reporter asked about Conor McGregor’s recent controversial take on the Dublin riots in the post-fight press conference, her promoter Eddie Hearn’s handling of the question won many hearts.

Conor McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout was one of the sponsors of the Taylor vs. Cameron rematch. The former two-division UFC champion has been in the news over his comments about the Dublin riots recently. Five people, including three small children, were stabbed in Dublin on Thursday, prompting protests that turned into riots.

‘The Notorious’ was very upset with the riots and took to Twitter to express his outrage. His tweets however prompted pushback and were perceived as ‘bad taste and inflammatory.’ Later, Eddie Hearn was asked about the subject in the Taylor vs. Cameron 2 post-fight press conference, which made the promoter seemingly unhappy.
