Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has once again taken a dig at his rival, Dustin Poirier. The latter is fighting a threatening bacterial infection currently and requires medical support. As per reports, he is not responding well to the medications and is under observation for the next 24 hours, which can be quite a critical period for him. McGregor, however, said something that might not please fans. He took digs at ‘The Diamond’ and made some unflattering comments.

Replying to a tweet from ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto, who was reporting about Dustin Poirier’s health condition, Conor McGregor tweeted:

McGregor and Poirier have had three fights and Poirier won the last two times they met in the octagon. But they have unfinished business. Thus, McGregor poked fun at Poirier on Twitter after news broke about his Staph infection woes.
The American MMA fighter responded by taking a jibe on McGregor allegedly using PEDs and his upcoming Hollywood debut Road House. Responding to this, McGregor said Poirier’s ‘missus‘ would like his upcoming movie. Thus, both fighters have started their back-and-forth once again.

Dustin Poirier not responding to antibiotics
Dustin Poirier is not responding to antibiotics after he contracted the bacterial infection. He is under constant medical observation. The bacterial infection Poirier is suffering from is called Staph Infection or staphylococcus infection; it results from bacteria found on the skin and nose.

The infection is common but had created a life-threatening situation for former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in 2018. The infection spread to the Australian’s stomach. Fortunately, the fighter recovered completely. Fans hope Dustin Poirier recovers too.
