Conor McGregor put UFC to new heights and vice versa. UFC superstar is very popular with Hollywood celebrities. Stars often talk about UFC and have ‘The Notorious’ as their favorite UFC fighter. The Irishman has had many moments with showbiz stars over the years.

One such mesmerizing moment came when the former UFC dual champ joined forces with the iconic Hollywood star Johnny Depp. The Pirates of the Caribbean star met ‘The Notorious‘ in Paris. The McGregor family was there for their third child, Rian’s christening, at St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. Meanwhile, the Academy Award winner was attending the Rome Film Festival.

Since the visit to Rome was a big occasion for the McGregors, the whole family enjoyed time with the Hollywood star and Conor McGregor didn’t miss an opportunity to have Depp taste some of his finest Irish liquid.

Conor McGregor missed a big Hollywood opportunity

In the early part of the last decade, the brash Irish fighter was showing something never done in MMA. His work on the microphone, his outfits at the pressers, and his quick and precise work in the Octagon and the backing of the fighting nation of Ireland gave him all the momentum in the world.

However, the second UFC featherweight champion missed an opportunity because of his love for fighting. The Notorious in an interview revealed, “I was scheduled to go straight into a Hollywood movie.”

While McGregor wanted to do the role, McGregor had a fight at UFC 196, hence he decided not to do the role. Consequently, he informed the director. “Look, it’s not in my heart at this time. I need to focus on this fight. This is what I look to do, and that’s it.”

Nevertheless, the stock of the Irishman has only grown in the world of combat sports, hence no one would be surprised to see him make big in Hollywood when the right opportunity presents.
