The former friends, McGregor and Lobov, have turned up the heat between them. Lobov filed an application to the court for orders that required the ‘Mystic Mac’ to take down his comments about his former friend on social media. After the claim that Lobov had a significant role in the launch of Proper No. 12 whiskey, McGregor has gone on a spree of calling his former friend a ‘rat’.
Without a doubt, the ‘Russian Hammer’ felt insulted and sought refuge in the judiciary system to save himself from the barrage of insults hurled by the ‘Notorious’. He sought an order from the court under Section 33 of the 2009 Defamation Act. However, the High Court seemed to be in McGregor’s favor. Mr. Justice Garett Simons rejected Lobov’s application, stating that calling him a ‘rat’ was not ‘clearly defamatory’.
