Conor McGregor had made some very unusual claims about his fight against Michael Chandler. The most surprising thing he announced about that fight was that it would take place at 185 lbs. Some people, like veteran MMA coach Ray Longo, don’t seem to like McGregor’s trolling tactics. He has called for Dana White to take some measures about the Irishman.
Conor McGregor announced that he will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 302, during International Fight Week. However Dana White hasn’t confirmed that announcement. Meanwhile, many people are claiming that McGregor isn’t being serious as Ray Longo weighed on it during a recent appearance on the ‘Anik & Florian Podcast’.

Ray Longo told Jon Anik and Kenny Florian that Conor McGregor was trying to either impress people with his bold claims or intimidate his opponent, Michael Chandler. The former double champion can make the claims that he made because he refuses to conform to the UFC’s rules. Longo said, “It is more bravado than it is anything… Conor’s gonna do sh*t cos’ he can and he doesn’t want to be controlled by anybody and I think he likes making outrageous statements.”

The veteran MMA coach wanted to see Dana White step up to Conor McGregor. He mentioned wanting to see the UFC CEO put the Irishman in line, although Longo stated it in a light-hearted manner. “Dana should, you know, step in and take control and issue some ultimatums I think,” Ray Longo added. However, he doesn’t think that McGregor’s bold take on his comeback fight has rattled Michael Chandler. Let’s see what he had to say on that front.
Michael Chandler has no problems with McGregor’s demands
Ray Longo claimed that after observing all the antics of Conor McGregor, it is apparent that the Irishman wants to be the center of attraction. This is why he resorts to making wild claims, including claims about his fight being a middleweight bout against Chandler. However, ‘Iron’ seemed unfazed, making that weight for the fight, which is something that Longo admires about Michael Chandler. He further stated, “The 185 thing is bizarre, but that’s what you got to love about Chandler. I think he [McGregor] could say 225, and Chandler… he’d say yes.”

Furthermore, Longo is convinced that Michael Chandler will do anything to get the fight against Conor McGregor, which keeps the Irishman’s comeback fight against him in the conversation. “Chandler’s gonna go with anything he says and I really don’t [think] Chandler gives a sh*t. So, I think that’s the good news,” Ray Longo added.
