Conor McGregor Once Spent More Than $300,000 in a Notorious Spending Spree Just Before the Biggest Fight of His UFC Career

Conor McGregor’s ability to sell fights has earned him a lot of money in his career. Along with putting up spectacular performances, ‘The Notorious’ is known to spend a lot on luxury items. While McGregor now deals in buying yachts and pubs, ‘Mystic Mac’ once purchased two cars ahead of his fight against Jose Aldo.

After defeating Chad Mendes via TKO, Conor McGregor was scheduled to face Jose Aldo at UFC 194. Ahead of his fight against the Brazilian legend, McGregor treated himself to some luxury cars by spending over $360,528.

‘The Notorious’ added the BMW i8 and Mercedes S-Class to his car collection. He spent $252,370 on the BMW and purchased the Mercedes S-Class for $116,570.

While Conor McGregor gifted himself these wheels ahead of his fight, they turned out to be the perfect gift as he clinched victory. His performance in the octagon is still talked about to this day.

The UFC never saw a rise like that of Conor McGregor. Since his debut, McGregor had always been charismatic and skillful. ‘The Notorious’ picked some victories in his career, which gained him a lot of momentum. After winning the interim belt against Chad Mendes, McGregor was scheduled to face Jose Aldo at UFC 194.

Going into the fight, Aldo was one of the most dominant champions the sport had seen. The Brazilian hadn’t lost a fight in 10 years. His counterpart, Conor McGregor, was in dominant form, too. The Irishman was on a 14-fight win streak.

While some people felt Aldo’s experience would prove overwhelming for McGregor, they were wrong. In a shocking result at UFC 194, Conor McGregor knocked Jose Aldo out within 0:13 seconds of round 1. The Brazilian tried to rush McGregor with his punches, but the Irishman countered with a left hand that sent Aldo to the floor.

After this fight, McGregor achieved a lot more success and accolades in his career. ‘The Notorious’ became the first two-division champion in the UFC when he won the lightweight title. He also tried his hand at boxing when he fought Floyd Mayweather.
