UFC megastar Conor McGregor was last seen in action at UFC 264 in 2021, where Dustin Poirier finished him via a technical knockout. McGregor tried to kick Poirier’s elbow and ended up breaking his leg. This injury was so gruesome that McGregor was ruled out of the fight game for at least a year, but a return could be imminent.

The Irishman, who was recently spotted at the venue of Bellator 275, provided updates on his injuries and the training regimen he has been following.

While talking to Severe MMA at Bellator 275, ‘The Notorious’ opened up about his injury and provided the exact date of his return to the training grounds.

McGregor said, “Very good. It’s getting there day by day. Day by day, I feel better. They are telling me to just take it easy and you know; but I feel I can go. I just need to kind of, you know, pull the reins back on my own self. So, that’s kind of what I am doing.”

“April, they said I can spar again… And I can box again, basically. So, I’m just gonna take it day by day.”

At the event, McGregor’s build amazed everyone. Not only was the Irishman looking bigger than he had ever been, but he was also a lot bigger than people would expect him to be if he was eyeing a lightweight return.

During the interview, the host told McGregor that people inside the stadium were calling him ‘light heavyweight McGregor’. This may have stemmed from the fact that the Irishman was looking huge for what UFC fans would expect from a fighter who had fought at the featherweight and lightweight division for most of his career.

This prompted the host to ask ‘The Notorious’ about which weight class he will return to. To this, McGregor replied he is looking to return at 170-pounds (welterweight) or 155-pounds (lightweight).
