Conor McGregor has fired back at Joe Rogan in his trademark fashion! The Irish MMA icon has been busy recently promoting his acting debut in ‘Road House’. During an interview on the promotional tour, he made an interesting observation about the craft of being an actor, he stated, “It’s just a difficult game, a lot more difficult than I gave it credit for.

However, Rogan, host of the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) podcast and UFC color commentator wasn’t exactly convinced by ‘The Notorious’s claims. As such, he took a shot at McGregor on his podcast which has now drawn a reply from the Irishman, adding another layer to the ongoing narrative between the pair that also caught Khabib Nurmagomedov in the crossfire!

During episode no. 2122 of the JRE, comedian Mark Normand told Joe Rogan about the statement Conor McGregor had made while promoting ‘Road House’. He stated, paraphrasing McGregor, “Acting is harder than UFC, coz he’s in Road House, that was a quote from Conor…”

But Rogan wasn’t impressed with the statement as he immediately responded by stating, “Okay, act in Road House or fight Khabib again, shut the f**k up, that is crazy talk.”

McGregor’s ability to fire back with humor and bravado showcased his penchant for engaging in verbal sparring, even outside the realm of combat sports. While Khabib Nurmagomedov has made it clear that he will not be returning to competition in the future, the Irishman’s remarks indicate that he is still willing to keep the rivalry alive by taking ‘cheeky’ shots at ‘The Eagle’ online.

Nevertheless, whether it’s about acting, fighting, or banter, these exchanges only serve to amplify the intrigue surrounding Conor McGregor’s highly-anticipated comeback to the Octagon and he recently also revealed the inspiration behind still wanting to fight despite his highly successful ventures outside the cage.

McGregor reveals his plans for a fighting career drawing inspiration from ‘Iron Mike’

Conor McGregor has recently revealed that he has drawn inspiration from Mike Tyson for his career in combat sports! The Irishman has been out of action since 2021 when he suffered a devastating injury to his leg at UFC 264 in his fight against Dustin Poirier. While he has recovered from the setback and was heavily involved in the promotion of his acting venture in ‘Road House’, McGregor has also indicated that he may be making his return to the Octagon in 2024.

And so, in a recent interview with TNT Sports, McGregor stated “I don’t think I could ever call it a day until I’m laid out flat in a box and going down into the ground. That’s when I will call it a day.” Inspired by boxing legend Mike Tyson’s continued participation in exhibition fights, McGregor views age as no barrier to his fighting career.

He emphasized that “And what Tyson said really struck me, he said: ‘What Cus would say to me is what took you so long?’ And that really hit me. It’s almost like people get weighted down with the pressure of life and uncertainty.”

McGregor also acknowledged the challenges fighters face post-retirement but remains focused on his path, determined to compete against opponents of similar age and maintain audience interest as long as he possibly can.
