Conor McGregor Reveals Why He Isn’t Doing Interviews Ahead of the Dustin Poirier Trilogy at UFC 264

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are set to clash at the UFC 264 main event. Both fighters are training extensively for the fight and would love to end the trilogy with a win. ‘Notorious’ and Poirier are both expecting different things going into the fight. Poirier would look to capitalize on his victory in January and prove he is ready for a title shot, while McGregor would want to prove he still is among the best fighters out there.
As this fight is really important for both fighters, they have been working very hard for it. McGregor had even talked about how he stayed away from his family for some time to concentrate on his training.
The UFC 264 is a grand event and McGregor is a worldwide superstar. Therefore, it was odd to see the fighter not being a part of many interviews before the event.

However, in his latest Instagram Live session, ‘Notorious’ revealed the reason behind the same. Replying to Marcus Deegan about his query to be on his podcast. McGregor said, “Yo Marcus Deegan, Will, do that interview, keeping it low-key at the minute.”

“I’ve got a job to do, so I’m just, you know, staying focused on that. No distractions. But I appreciate what you’ve been doing with your podcast. I saw the other day you put up the UFC’s first-ever Mexican Champion; You know I saw that with a bottle of proper 12. I appreciate it, I will get on your podcast alright.”
What to expect from the UFC 264 fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier?
The UFC 264 clash between the two fighters is the third between them. They first clashed at UFC 178, when ‘Notorious’ won via TKO in the 1st round. Their second fight at UFC 257 ended in a victory for ‘The Diamond’ via a second-round TKO.

Therefore, fans do expect even this fight to start aggressively and end in a KO/TKO. Poirier would certainly be more confident coming into the victory as he defeated McGregor in their last clash. However ‘Notorious’ is sure to come out all guns blazing and if Poirier is not careful he might get into big trouble.
