Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have had an intense rivalry in the UFC. They even fought it out twice (UFC 196 and UFC 202) in the Octagon. Either of the fighters won one bout each. Thus, fans wanted to see a trilogy fight. But with McGregor’s leg injury and Diaz’s desperation to get out of his UFC contract, the timings didn’t match.

Conor McGregor is optimistic though. He congratulated his rival on Twitter and was sure they would fight the third time.

He wrote, “Congrats Nate Diaz on making it to the end of his contractual obligations with the UFC, and as a bonafide superstar goer. An incredible feat. Fair play. Our trilogy will happen.

With ‘The Notorious’ being so certain, it will be interesting to see under what conditions their third fight will take place. ‘The Stockton Slugger’ will leave the promotion and McGregor, on the other hand, wishes to make a comeback.

Further, Nate Diaz might also try his hands at boxing after leaving mixed martial arts.
