The former two-division champion of UFC Conor McGregor took a dig at the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman on the internet. The Irishman trolled Usman for his call out to the famous boxer, Canelo Alvarez.

Conor McGregor popularized MMA and boxing crossovers in the world. ‘The Notorious’ went against the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match in 2017. Although McGregor lost the fight, crossovers became a popular theme in combat sports.

Following the McGregor vs Mayweather boxing match, several other crossovers took place in different promotions. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ expressed his desire to fight the Mexican boxer, Canelo Alvarez, into a potential boxing match in many of his interviews. However, it seemed like a funny idea to ‘The Notorious’ and he trolled Usman for the same.

The Irishman took to social media and posted a story to express his views on this scenario. He posted a picture of himself next to Usman with a laughing face emoji, the screen read, “Usman wants to do the same thing with Canelo like Conor did with Floyd.

It seemed like the former two-division champion of UFC was trolling the Nigerian fighter for copying his style. Although this fight might have a possibility, Usman has a lot on his table in the promotion before he sets his eyes on a crossover. Kamaru is all set to defend his welterweight gold against one of his worst rivals for the second time in the promotion.
