Irina Alekseeva, dubbed ‘Russian Ronda’ made an impressive UFC debut at UFC Vegas 72. She submitted fellow bantamweight Stephanie Egger in the very first round via a kneebar. With the win, she has successfully kicked off her UFC career and redeemed herself of botching the weight on the scale.

The 32-year-old had a rocky start to her UFC debut as he missed weight by 4 lbs ahead of the fight. However, that did not hold back the former Bellator star from putting on a dominant showing inside the cage. The fight started off competitively as the pair matched on the feet.

Egger initiated a clinch from behind soon after. However, that marked the beginning of her downfall as Alekseeva was able to grab a hold of her leg as they went to the ground. The rest was just a formality as she locked in a kneebar and popped Egger’s knee before she tapped.

An elated Alekseeva did a cartwheel inside the cage before doing the famed ‘billi strut.’ However, her celebrations did not sit well with the fans.

Irina Alekseeva was visibly overjoyed at her win at UFC Vegas 72. The 32-year-old could not even decide what celebrations to do and did quite a few of them. However, many fans felt she should have contained her celebrations. Especially after the fact that she missed weight by quite a margin and beat a much smaller opponent.
