And after Adesanya’s other nemesis, Dricus Du Plessis pulled out of their fight to recover from a shoulder injury, ‘Izzy’ pushed the UFC to give him Strickland. Adesanya talks UFC 300

A reporter asked Israel Adesanya if he would want to be part of UFC 300. The Kiwi immediately expressed his desire to headline the event. The middleweight champion hoped to headline the event and thought featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski should co-headline.

“I’d love to headline that [UFC 300]. But we’ll see, because I’ve watched UFC 100, that was Brock Lesnar versus Frank Mir. UFC 200, that was… Jon, yeah, fought DC.” So, either way, I’ve been a fan of the sport for a long time and UFC 300 I’m gonna touch that because I know I’m not gonna hit UFC 400″, said the middleweight champ.

Strickland has been very critical of Adesanya over the last year. ‘Izzy’ wearing nail paint and watching anime are a few of a long list of things that disgust ‘Tarzan’. So, how does the ever-petty Adesanya respond to this? By promising to wear nail paint in the Strickland fight, and doing a TikTok dance on Strickland’s knocked-out body, if he can manage it.

Adesanya has a good opponent in the #1 ranked middleweight for a potential UFC 300 fight. If, they can reignite the feud between them, which has largely died down since their hostile face-off at UFC 292.
