

Conor McGregor is arguably one of the greatest martial artists to step foot in the octagon. The Irishman has a long list of accolades that he has earned throughout his MMA career. Recently, his coach, John Kavanagh, accepted the role of being the best man for his student’s wedding. This student is none other than UFC fighter Johnny Walker.

Kavanagh has coached talented fighters such as Conor McGregor, Johnny Walker, and Gunnar Nelson. Recently, he posted a picture of a champagne bottle on his Instagram with a note attached to it, which read, “John, Will you be my best man? From Johnny.”

Kavanagh captioned the post, “Well he asked and I said yes. First time being a best man. Time to get working on the stags and speech. I’m in your corner @johnnywalker.” In the comments, Walker replied to the post with, “You are definitely in my corner @coach_kavanagh.”
After Walker’s defeat against Nikita Krylov, Walker changed camps and joined Kavanagh’s SBG gym in Ireland. The two have been together ever since and formed a strong partnership. Kavanagh was able to get Walker back to his winning ways after securing a victory over Ryan Spann.

It seems as though the two are very close and have a strong bond between them. Hopefully, we will see more success from this duo inside the octagon.
John Kavanagh’s Bond With Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor and John Kavanagh have been together since the early days of McGregor’s career.

Kavanagh is the founder and head coach of the Straight Blast Gym. This is where he met McGregor, and the rest is history. McGregor was only 16 when he joined the SBG gym back in 2007. He transitioned to SBG from the Crumlin Boxing Club.

Kavanagh is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who has helped McGregor level up his ground game. The two have worked together and broken multiple records in the UFC. McGregor did the impossible and secured the lightweight and the featherweight title under Kavanagh’s guidance.
