Islam Makhachev is proving to be the true successor of Khabib Nurmagomedov. The lightweight champion is following in the footsteps of his compatriot. Even more so, he has the same adversaries as Nurmagomedov. One such person would be a former teammate of Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. The double division champ’s ex-teammate always looks to get on the nose of the Dagestanis. This time Danis looks to start a Twitter war with the champion. Moreover, Danis also gets trolled for attacking and calling out Makhachev.

Islam Makhachev had beaten Charles Oliveira to win the UFC lightweight championship. Post-fight, Nurmagomedov had also called out Alexander Volkanovski to face Makhachev in Australia for the pound-for-pound title match.

Dillon Danis taunting Islam Makhachev on Twitter

Dillon Danis recently took to Twitter to start a verbal attack on the Dagestani champion. The controversial fighter posted a picture of Islam Makhachev with a woman. He tweeted “Haram” (Meaning ‘forbidden’) while taking a jibe at the UFC lightweight champion. The tweet is a jibe because Makhachev is a practicing Muslim.

To Makhachev‘s aid came Muhammad Mokaev, a Russian-born English fighter. He is currently fighting in UFC’s flyweight division. The 125-pound fighter responded with, “Shut your mouth, Twitter fighter!”

This is not the first time that ‘The Punisher’ has spoken about the Dagestani champion. Before his fight with Charles Oliveira, ‘The Punisher’ gave out good wishes to the eventual winner. He even said that Makhachev deserved to be a champion.

History of Danis with Makhachev:

Danis and Makhachev had numerous exchanges online and even in person. Furthermore, the duo finds themselves on opposite sides of some of the major disputes in the MMA world.

The most popular one was created during UFC 229 in Las Vegas. Islam Makhachev was cornering Khabib Nurmagomedov. Similarly, Dillon Danis was guiding Conor McGregor in his camp. Hell broke loose after McGregor tapped out to Nurmagomedov‘s neck crank. The people of both camps engaged in a brawl inside and outside the Octagon.
