The #2 lightweight Justin Gaethje is in the headlines after his mind-blowing performance and victory over Michael Chandler. Both the lightweight combatants lived up to the hype and delivered one of the best fights of the year.

Following their bloody bout, the former two-division champion Conor McGregor expressed his interest in fighting Chandler. However, ‘The Highlight’ believes McGregor is picking up fights with the names he already defeated, like Donald Cerrone, Tony Ferguson, and now Chandler.

Recently, Gaethje appeared in an interview with TMZ Sports and took a shot at McGregor. He said, “I don’t ever want to talk like this ‘cause I hate to do it. Cowboy is someone I wanna hang around with for the rest of my life. I don’t want to disrespect him in any way.”

“Chandler doesn’t deserve it. Ferguson doesn’t deserve it. But to me, it feels like we’re in grade school and Conor McGregor’s following me around, trying to pick up all my sloppy seconds. Is that not what’s happening? And I find it so hilarious. I hate to say it because, again, it’s disrespectful to the opponents that I beat. But I fought Cowboy, then he wants to fight Cowboy. I just beat up Chandler. Now he wants to fight Chandler.”

Crazy Knockout Finishes by Dustin Poirier in UFC

Gaethje believes it is just comical that the Irishman will never call him out for a fight. But is taking on the fighters he has brutally defeated in his UFC Career. He also claimed to make his face look like the opponents he defeated if McGregor ever fought him.

Meanwhile, ‘The Highlight’ is fresh from his recent win and is likely to receive one of the biggest opportunities of his UFC career soon.

Justin Gaethje Says Dustin Poirier won’t face him again

After a stunning win at UFC 268, ‘The Highlight’ has cemented his position in the lightweight division of UFC. Many people are backing him for the 155lbs title shot next.

However, Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira are already set to take on each other for the UFC lightweight gold at UFC 269 inside the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas. Hence, Gaethje is likely to fight the winner of the title fight next.
