McGregor’s reaction to this news did not sit well with the fans as the MMA community turned on the Irish mixed martial artist.
Angry fans mocked Conor McGregor for attacking Kamaru Usman
This fan reminded McGregor how his last bout had gone, by dubbing him as,’ Mr Docta stoppage’. 2021 saw McGregor losing back-to-back rematches and left him with an injured leg.

Another fan reminded him of his previous loss suffered at the hands of his arch-nemesis, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The duo never got the chance to run it back, and Nurmagomedov retired with an unblemished career.

More fans suggested his move to 170 should not warrant him a title shot. Instead, the former two-weight UFC champion should face Colby Covington for the number 1 contender spot.
Colby vs Conor for the interim belt makes sense 🤔

MMA purists quickly dismissed McGregor’s claim for a title shot at 170 lbs by citing his recent record. Just 2 fights at 170 lbs and one producing submission loss, it is indeed difficult to award him a crack at the title.
A guy who has lost 3 of 4 and hasn't won a fight in over 2 years deserves a shot at the belt? Haha
