Michael Chandler was getting increasingly impatient, as he voiced several times over the last couple of months. However, defeating McGregor, despite his long recovery is not a piece of cake but ‘Iron’ seems to have an immaculate plan for taking ‘The Notorious’ down. Ahead of their clash let’s have a look at Michael Chandler’s game plan.

Michael Chandler Plans to KO Conor McGregor

Chandler has been having a rough time in his MMA career as Chandler has lost three out of his last four bouts. His last win came against Tony Ferguson back in 2022. In comparison to Chandler, McGregor has not stepped inside the Octagon since his last outing against Dustin Poirier back in 2021 where he broke his leg.

And both the fighters need to win their next bout badly, especially after years of build-up and trash-talking. Michael Chandler had promised that he would knock out McGregor in the second round and seems like ‘Iron’ is astute in his words. While in conversation with ‘The Mac Life’, Chandler was asked about his game plan to face McGregor and Chandler stated that he is planning to take ‘Notorious’ in a pain spiral.

“No, I still see the outcome the same way. Um, I think I’ll put him on his back foot in the first round, um, make him second guess himself in the first round, start drowning him in the first round, and finish him in the second. Um, I don’t know if it’s going to be a KO or a choke, make him give up his back, his neck, um, but I think it’s going to be a second-round finish. And, uh, that has not changed. That’s my Mystic Mike prediction,” said Chandler.

Conor McGregor might be on hiatus, but defeating the former dual-weight champion might require much more than mere talks. Interestingly, as soon as their fight was officially announced, both fighters went after each other’s necks, reigniting the rivalry once more.

McGregor and Chandler at each other’s neck

Nobody in the UFC can quite trash-talk like Conor McGregor, and he demonstrates it every time in the build-up to his fights. ‘The Notorious’ has been trying his best to make a comeback to the Octagon and White’s confirmation at the UFC 300 presser is just what he needed. McGregor couldn’t contain his excitement after the fight was announced and took to X to drop a classic Conor McGregor moment to taunt Michael Chandler.

McGregor mimicked Chandler’s voice and dropped a voice note on X to say, “We’re gonna fight right now? We’re gonna do this right now? Right here and right now?.” In response to McGregor’s mocking Chandler took to his x handle to add his voice note where he warned McGregor of consequences. “Conor, It’s too late to be scared,” said Chandler.

Their clash would be headlining the UFC 303. Their fight has the potential to become one of the highest earners for the UFC considering the fact that it is McGregor’s comeback. What are your thoughts on Michael Chandler’s warning? Do you believe he has what it takes to defeat the former dual-weight champion?
