McGregor has been itching to come back and has blamed the organization for not giving him a fight. However, in all fairness, a McGregor and Michael Chandler fight seems to be in the works if the Irishman does in fact make a return soon. So the likelihood of a trilogy with Diaz was anyway not on the horizon.

Not to mention, McGregor himself had announced making a comeback to the sport against Chandler this year in the middleweight division. However, there was one legendary fighter who did not appreciate this callout.

Following his infamous injury, McGregor put on a lot of muscle and is bigger than Chandler, and a fight in the middleweight division may appear coherent. However, according to Michael Bisping, former middleweight challenger, this is not a wise move. That is because he thinks McGregor would get tired early and Chandler may capitalize on it.

Reflecting on the same, on his YouTube channel, he said, “I truly believe that the instincts, the reflexes will also be slowed but more importantly the big thing here is that it’s going to make him tired and if he gets tired and Chandler uses the correct game plan, he could be a sitting duck by round two and three.”
