Sean O’Malley accuses Conor McGregor of attacking him over a failed business deal

The reigning bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley had always been a fan of Conor McGregor, and the sudden callout by the former dual-weight champion was ‘sad’ for him. While having a conversation with bodybuilder and controversial MMA influencer, Bradley Martyn on his podcast ‘Raw Talk’, O’Malley explained that McGregor’s fame and shine have gotten to his head.“He sees, like, you know, he’s starting to… he’s starting to get pushed out, I’m starting to come up. It’s like, yeah, there’s no other reason for him to talk about me,” said O’Malley.

The bantamweight champion further emphasized that he never said anything bad about McGregor and has always praised him. It was just shocking for him to witness one of his idols call him out like this.“I’ve never said anything but praised him, you know? I’ve looked up to him. So, I want to try to hate him, but you know, it’s hard. Conor, he’s the man. He really is. But I… I don’t know. I really don’t feel any way about it. When I first saw it, I was like, “What the…”

O’Malley further revealed a piece of information that was supposed to be hidden from the fight world. “God, I know he’s probably geeked out, yeah, uh, you know, jealous.” You know? So, he wanted me to sign with their management company. I didn’t want to, so he’s, you know, he sees me blowing up. So I don’t know he he he he like you say deleted it real quick after I’m sure either his team did or he’s like ‘God why did I do that’ but I don’t know.”

According to Sean O’Malley, McGregor’s sports management company wanted to sign him under them, however, the bantamweight champion denied it as he is opposed to using any management company to look after his dailies. Nonetheless, this sudden callout by Conor McGregor seems to have given O’Malley a reason to go against the Dubliner.

O’Malley pulls back his support for McGregor

Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor have many similarities and one of them was the way they won their featherweight and bantamweight belts respectively. ‘Suga’ looked up to McGregor as his idol, however, it seems like ‘Mystic Mac’ had no regard for O’Malley’s appreciation anymore. After the tweet went viral, O’Malley withdrew his support for McGregor and added that he couldn’t wait to see him lose against Michael Chandler.

“F— Conor, man. I’ve seen a lot of people being like, ‘Yeah, I bet Suga is sad. Suga is always talking [but] great about Conor, and he’s his f—ing idol.’ He just went on a little tweet rant. F—ing booger sugar’d up, talking s—. ‘I’ll fly you out to spar.’ Yeah, right. I was more sad than mad,” said O’Malley in a conversation with TimboSugarShow Podcast.
