Conor McGregor‘s teammate, Dillon Danis, is someone who invites trouble with his brash attitude. He often pokes fun at top UFC fighters on social media. One of Danis’ recent targets was UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. A few days back, Volkanovski won a glorious victory against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290. The two tough fighters came face-to-face for a title unification bout. It was ‘The Great’ who clearly dominated the fight. When the bout reached the third round, Volkanovski defeated Rodriguez via TKO.

‘El Jefe’ has no argument over the greatness of Volkanovski as a fighter. However, he was not at all impressed with what the Australian fighter wore at the ESPYs 2023. Danis, who finds some way or another to make fun of fighters, felt that the UFC featherweight champion looked like the character Penguin from ‘The Batman’.

Dillon Danis shared the image of Alexander Volkanovski from the ESPYs Awards. Along with the photo, he wrote, “Volk is great but wtf is my man wearing out here looking like the penguin from batman.” Volkanovski wore a black suit that was large. ‘El Jefe’ was quick to notice the same. He decided to use the chance to make fun of Volkanovski.

‘El Jefe’ began his combat sports career first as a grappler and then as a trainer. However, he received widespread popularity as the best buddy of the UFC superstar, Conor McGregor. Even though his last MMA bout was in 2019, he continues to make headlines for his controversial statements against top UFC fighters.

Dillon Danis makes interesting greatest UFC featherweight claim

A few days ago, Dillon Danis got into trouble for his controversial statement regarding the best UFC featherweight fighter. When Alexander Volkanovski retained his belt at UFC 290, Danis decided to tweet about it, but in a controversial manner. He mentioned that Volkanovski is talented but not the greatest featherweight. He tweeted, “Alex Volkanovski is undoubtedly a talented featherweight, but Conor McGregor is the best featherweight of all time.“

Danis has always been a tremendous supporter of McGregor. While the Irishman was in the featherweight division, he achieved a 7-0 winning streak. Even though McGregor ruled the featherweight division as the champion, he never defended his title. On the other hand, the Australian fighter has defended his featherweight belt a whopping five times. Nonetheless, according to Danis, it is McGregor who is the greatest featherweight of all time.
