Conor McGregor is not having his best days on ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Season 31 of the show sees him feature opposite prospective opponent Michael Chandler to coach a team of prospects against UFC veterans. So far, five episodes have come out and Team McGregor has not been able to register a win in any of them. With the competition getting serious with each week, Team McGregor had a dilemma in this past episode. Their opponent from Team Chandler was Brad Katona, an SBG produce and Paradigm Sports athlete.

For those unaware, SBG and Paradigm are both home to Conor McGregor. He shares his gym and his agency with the 31-year-old Katona. Therefore, it was not the best situation for McGregor and his coaches to prepare for one of their own. To add insult to injury, Katona got the win for the red team, taking them 5-0 ahead in the race to the semi-finals. Now, the Canadian star has penned a message following his win in the recent TUF 31 episode.

Brad Katona shares a message after recent TUF 31 victory

This is not the first time Brad Katona has been featured on TUF. The SBG Ireland star won the whole tournament in his first stint on TUF 27. After winning the finale, Katona went 1-2 in the UFC before they released him in February 2020. The bantamweight star then moved to Brave CF where he became the bantamweight champion.

Now, he is back for another shot in the UFC and kicked it off with a win. In a recent Instagram post, Katona shared a message that went, “Familiar territory – a quiet arena, the UFC canvas beneath my feet, and advancing into the Semi-Finals. Grateful for everyone who’s been behind me and those fresh aboard.”

Conor McGregor raises an issue with TUF proceedings

Post the fight in episode 5, Conor McGregor was walking up and down the cage, asking for the fights to be three rounds. His argument was that the first two rounds were competitive enough and therefore a third round should have been added.

Later, he added more comments backstage. McGregor said, “They are unfinished fights. If they go unfinished fights, give them the third round. There are guys fighting for their life here.”

Being 5-0 down is a bad look for McGregor and his team. And losing the 5th fight to Katona has to be a bittersweet moment. Do you think McGregor and his students can scrape something off from the remaining three fights?
