UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been making headlines in the combat sports world over the last few weeks as he returns to activity after not being involved for the past three years. His journey began with a closely watched comeback that earned him a hefty amount of money during the memorable UFC 307 PPV event in Salt Lake City. Following that, McGregor took on the role of vice president in BKFC, and his involvement in the recent ‘one and done’ BKFC Marbella event raised the stakes in the fight industry.

With just one appearance, he called out several fighters from both boxing and MMA, with YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI being a prominent target. During the event, McGregor trolled KSI about his new song “Thick of It” claiming it was “for that bulls*** song he released alone.” KSI initially labeled McGregor an “idiot,” but in a sudden change of heart, KSI accepted the callout in a recent interview with MISFITS Boxing.

KSI stated, “I’m here to fight, bro. I am here to fight, okay? I said I want big fights, and I’m going to get big fights next year. We’re going to have big fights next year. That’s how I am. I can’t wait! I have been training hard, working hard, and making sure I knock out opponents. You know, making sure that weight is on point every time. I can’t wait, so Bo, Conor, let’s go!”

KSI’s journey into boxing began much like Logan Paul’s, as he first entered the ring as an exhibition fighter to resolve a rivalry with British YouTuber Joe Weller, which KSI won by technical knockout. Since then, KSI has continued to push forward in his career in both professional and exhibition boxing. Now it’s up to Conor McGregor—will he accept KSI’s offer? The former UFC champion still has many “YouTube nerds” to contend with.

Conor McGregor Sets His Sights on YouTuber-Turned Boxers

Conor McGregor is notorious for his ‘merc with a mouth’ persona, meaning he never shies away from expressing his feelings. Despite his prolonged absence from the octagon, lasting over three years, McGregor consistently manages to remain in the limelight. However, one pressing concern occupies his mind: he is struggling to return to combat sports. His former MMA opponent, Michael Chandler, has moved on to face Charles Oliveira at the upcoming UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in November after waiting for more than 18 months, leaving McGregor’s return to the combat world hanging in the balance.

So, what could be next for McGregor? Could it be a boxing exhibition match? But against whom? KSI and Jake Paul could be possible options. McGregor expressed interest in this earlier this year after witnessing the potential of boxing generating another ‘red panty night’ against Floyd Mayweather.

While speaking to Sneak Peek TV, McGregor opened up about the idea of fighting YouTuber-turned-boxers. He stated, “Yeah, the YouTuber nerds—I would consider that a mixer, a side job. If I were to pick one out of them, KSI has a big name in the UK. I’m sure at some stage we’ll go through all of these guys. Fury called me out the other day; he beat Jake and fought KSI. I’m open to it.”
