Cory Sandhagen grabbed all kinds of positive attention after he knocked out Frankie Edgar in sensational fashion in their bantamweight co-main event at UFC Fight Night 184. ‘Sandman’ was trending all over the internet and managed to gain 10k followers within 45 minutes of his triumph.

Social media is a big thing for the fighters as it helps them garner the needed exposure to market themselves. Sandhagen is a superstar fighter with incredible skills. But, his recent setback against ‘Funkmaster’ Aljamain Sterling at UFC 250 was heartbreaking for the rising star. He has restored his place in the division with two highlight-reel finishes over Marlon Moraes and Frankie Edgar, respectively.

No doubt, UFC fans around the world were keeping an eye on tonight’s stacked fight card. Apart from the heavyweight main-event between Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem, Sandhagen vs Edgar was yet another big attraction for fight fans. Sandhagen used the stage better than one could have imagined.

It’s fair to say he did everything right to gain thousands of fans with that knockout. Going forwards, fans may think of Sandhagen’s KO whilst recollecting Jorge Masvidal‘s picturesque flying knee KO against Ben Askren at UFC 239.

Who’s next for Cory Sandhagen?

Sandhagen deserves a title shot next. There’s no argument over that claim. His body of work in the division has undoubtedly put him in the prime spot to fight for the belt next. Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan will clash for the gold at UFC 259. Sandhagen should be next for whoever wins that fight.

There’s no doubt ‘Sandman‘ will look to right his wrong against ‘Funkmaster‘. Also, a fight again Yan will be a great spectacle for the fans too. Who should Sandhagen fight next? What did you make of his rapid follower gain on social media?
