Shavkat Rakhmonov has had a very good night. After all, the undefeated Kazakh fighter beat Ian Garry without much issue to set up a title clash against reigning champ Belal Muhammad sometime next year. But for the moment, he can kick back his feet, relax, and celebrate his win. The fans certainly are doing so.

After all, one of the first things fans started discussing after the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas card was Rakhmonov seemingly giving UFC commentator Laura Sanko the cold shoulder. Sanko, of course, is a huge admirer of the Kazakh.

A short clip shared by ‘MMA Orbit’ where Sanko is waiting to interview Rakhmonov with a Papakha on and shakes her hand before hugging Dana White, was taken by some fans as the undefeated fighter somehow ‘snubbing’ Sanko, which fans were a bit surprised by.

Sanko, of course, once said about Rakhmonov that “there’s something about the way he fights, the way he operates, it gives me chills”. To which, Rakhmonov, cool as ever, was flattered. “What can I say? As a man, you always like when woman adores you. So, what else can I say? That’s it,” he said.

Of course, some fans felt that Rakhmonov hadn’t actually ignored Sanko. After all, ‘Nomad’ was clearly tired, shook Sanko’s hand as soon as he saw her, and only diverted his attention to embrace Dana White. But this is not how most fans saw this online, as they couldn’t really believe that Rakhmonov would do Sanko dirty like that, despite her being one of his biggest cheerleaders.

The fans were a bit too harsh on Sanko. Clearly the UFC commentator is a fan of Rakhmonov and his no-nonsense fighting style. But then again, who isn’t? After all, ‘Nomad’ is the definition of the word ‘warrior’ whose fights are guaranteed to be action-packed. Not to mention Sanko was literally just doing her job in interviewing the Kazakh. This is why one fan calling the whole thing “shameless” is a bit puzzling.

Ian Garry took Rakhmonov to the judges’ scorecard for the first time in ‘Nomad’s pro MMA career. Not to mention the Irishman nearly submitted him in the final round, which is why one fan felt that “He could care less😭” about the interview with Sanko.

Another fan completely agreed with this sentiment: “And he couldn’t give a f**k….”

Rakhmonov, of course, comes from the desolate steppes of Central Asia, which was also the home to perhaps the greatest conqueror in human history. Unsurprisingly, ‘Nomad’ prevailing in the octagon yet again drew comparisons to the great Khan: “How ghengis khan conquered the west. Or the East or whatever”

Since Rakhmonov is Muslim, and there is a subtext of some sparks between Sanko (who is married) and the Kazakh, one fan jokingly chimed in and called this “Haraam.” What do you think about the fans reaction to Laura Sanko and Shavkat Rakhmonov’s interaction after UFC 310 ?
