Cris Cyborg Gives a Reality Check to Jake Gyllenhaal & Dana White After UFC 285 Stunt for Conor McGregor’s Road House Movie

The fans recently witnessed the ceremonial weigh-in for UFC 285. However, they were in for a surprise when Conor McGregor appeared to ask the fans to cheer loudly as Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal seemed to shoot a scene for their upcoming movie, ‘Road House’. However, the former UFC champ and current Bellator women’s featherweight, Cris Cyborg, made history on the same day five years ago.

McGregor‘s co-star, Gyllenhaal, appeared to shoot a movie scene with UFC veteran Jay Hieron. The scene had multiple takes showcasing the weigh-in for Gyllenhaal and Hieron for UFC 222. They play the role of UFC fighters Elwood Dalton and Jax Harris, respectively, in their upcoming movie.

However, on this very same day in 2018, former UFC fighter Cris Cyborg created history after becoming the first-ever female fighter to win the main event of a UFC pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is one of the most decorated female fighters in the history of mixed martial arts.

Cyborg currently holds an MMA record of 26 wins and 2 losses. She is also currently on a 6-fight winning streak and is undefeated in her current promotion. However, on March 3, 2018, she made history after her second and final featherweight title defense at UFC 222. She successfully defended her title against Yana Kunitskaya. The fight ended in the very first round, with Cyborg winning it by a TKO. She took to Twitter and shared a post regarding one of the most memorable moments in her UFC career as a reminder to UFC president Dana White.

She wrote: “12,041 fans with a 1.36 million dollar gate becoming one of the only Women to headline a PPV in Las Vegas in the process. ” 

Cyborg highlighted the fact that she was the first woman ever to headline a PPV in Las Vegas. UFC 222 had a record attendance of over 12,000 fans and earned a live gate of an estimated $1,367,672. The show was one of the most successful UFC events with women fighting in the main event.

Cris Cyborg‘s MMA record is sure to usher her into the UFC Hall of Fame, as she only lost once during her time fighting under the UFC banner. Moreover, she is still one of the most prominent MMA fighters, even at 37 years of age. It does not seem like she is going to slow down anytime soon as Cyborg‘s legend continues to grow.
